Kovalenko, the convicted director of the second stage of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (reactors 3 and 4), speaks about the causes of the Chernobyl disaster and the trial of the plant's personnel. He was sentenced along with A.S. Dyatlov, N.M. Fomin, and V.P. Bryukhanov to 10 years in prison; he died in 1995.
