(I had to re-upload this because of the length of the video, sorry if you've seen it twice!)

I am a self-taught, full-time iOS Engineer, and I've launched over 8 apps on the App Store. This is my advice for beginners learning how to code!

1. Work on what you are interested in, whether that is data science, web, mobile, etc. It's tough so it really helps if you are passionate about that specific area of software engineering.
2. Do tutorials in the beginning. Tutorials are great to follow along and get a feel for how to do certain things, but don't get stuck in tutorial hell, which is just always doing tutorials.
3. Work on your own projects as much as you possibly can. Build your own stuff. Make mistakes. Break things. Fix them. Try new stuff. Google your errors, try to solve them yourself, and just continue that process. It can be painful, but this is the BEST way to learn.
4. Keep a portfolio and share your work with the world. You're going to want to keep a portfolio to show off to other people, potential cofounders, or companies that want to hire you.

You can do it - good luck!
