Arnaldur Arnarson plays Sor with a historical guitar built by Enrique García in 1914
The excellent Icelandic guitarist Arnaldur Arnarson was the protagonist of our Autumn Concert 2022, a concert in which we honor the luthier Enrique García Castillo as the date coincides with the centenary of his death. For this reason, Arnarson performed several pieces in this recital on a guitar built by this legendary luthier. Here you can watch and listen to the piece with which Arnaldur opened the concert, Fernando Sor's "Andante Largo op5 n5", played on the García guitar number 154, built in 1914.
In this way, thanks to the good state of conservation of the instrument and the virtuous hands of Arnaldur Arnarson, we have been able to enjoy the sound of a guitar over 100 years old, with a sweet sound, deep basses and bright trebles, so characteristic of the great guitar makers of that time who gave prestige to the sound of the Spanish guitar throughout the world.
