Equality, diversity and inclusion are fundamental principles which should underlie the effective practice of science. I will talk about subtle barriers to inclusion, how they have impacted the work of CCP4 in the past, and the kind of small steps we can take to begin to tackle the complex and interconnected systemic biases which underpin these barriers.
