In the Simien Mountains the border between Amhara and Tigray in northwest Ethiopia, and only there, lives a unique breed of monkeys: Gelada Monkeys. Their main food is grass. In the morning they climb up from the gorges to the grasslands of the Ethiopian plateau where the spend their time on feeding and a complex social life. We had the oppportunity to spend a full they observing them and their social interaction. This video describes our personal experience and also gives much detail about their physique, interaction, reproduction and communication.
