The North Sumatra provincial wildlife authority (BBKSDA) of the Indonesia Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) returned a pangolin (Manis javanica) back in the wild. This rare animal was kept by an illegal owner before handing it over to the BBKSDA. After a medical check-up by veterinarian this pangolin, together with 2 other animals (python, and leoard cat), were released by the BBKSDA and Scorpion Foundation, in Siranggas Wildlife Reserve, Pakpak Bharat, North Sumatra on August 27, 2020.
