In this episode, we explore two topics. First, we dive into a scene from the Sandman Netflix series, that questions the morality of lying. Specifically, the scene with Doctor Destiny in the diner. We differentiate between pernicious lies and aspirational ones – and discuss the moral grey area that aspirational lies throw you into. It’s not always clear that bullshitting is bad. Likewise, the advice “don’t lie” isn’t always the best. The second topic we explore is our finale to the discussion of the shadow. We outline a basic process to start unraveling yourself (and your vision of Good) from its grips.

// Where are these episodes going? //

We are taking the abstract process of human transformation (described by Jung, Alchemy, The Hero’s Journey, The Bible, Star Trek, One Piece, Sandman, and more), and putting it in real world terms.

How can a real person’s experience map onto these ideas? How can you engage with these ideas to find spark or your place in the world? How can you use this process to find life in the face of human limitation and suffering: failure, bad relationships, illness, polarization, and death? How can games (RPGs, ARGs, tabletop, sport) help set you on this path?

We offer no rules — just heuristics and stories. From there, we leave it in your hands — to set your own principals and grow your own creative life.

Finally. We will most certainly go off track. But we hope you enjoy the long winding path. It will all make sense in the end :).
