This time, I’m going to take a step back, to show you how to navigate a Live Loops session from scratch, before exploring some additional ways we can mess with our perceptions of time within loop-based music. Among other things, I’ll show you how to record your own Loop cells, add tempo-clocked LFO movement, introduce Drum Machine Designer lanes of unusual lengths and add Automation. It feels as though Live Loops gives us a chance to do something very non-linear and unpredictable without leaving the comfort of a 4/4 time signature.
