This shows quite a bit of the backstory between these characters. The scene is Fleckfoot confronting Wildsnap for all the things she did after Midgeflight’s death that she’d been covering up.
Explanation of the basic plot:
In the previous arc to my story, the dark forest fought the same way they did in omen of the stars, but this time they won and drove out half of the clans living in the forest. Those clans came back and fought off the dark forest centuries later.
The problem in this story is that after the dark forest cats were driven off, the thing that made them come back to life as ghosts didn’t instantly go away. Every time a cat dies there’s a 50% chance of them coming back as a visible ghost.
The clans are split with what to do about this.
Some cats believe they should allow these ghost cats to continue their lives among their clan until they’re killed a second time. These cats view this as a gift from Starclan.
Others think if a cat dies and comes back as a ghost, their clanmates should execute them and send them to starclan (they don’t know for sure if this sends them back to starclan (spoiler alert: it doesn’t!!)
