📜 THE HISTORY BEHIND THE SONGS
"A Love Bizarre" (1985) – Co-written and recorded as a duet by Prince and virtuoso percussionist Sheila E. for her second studio album, Romance 1600. Recorded during a stop on the Purple Rain Tour in early 1985, the 12-minute album version features Prince handling vocal, bass, and guitar duties alongside Sheila's iconic timbales. The track became a massive hit, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart and No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Cool" (1981) – Originally written by Prince (with writing credit officially given to Dez Dickerson) and produced by Prince for the self-titled debut album by The Time. Sung by Morris Day, the track was one of the earliest foundational singles to define the classic "Minneapolis Sound"—fusing heavy funk, synth-pop, and sharp theatrical style.
