Nearly half a million Illinois residents depend on the affordable care act, also known as Obamacare, for their health insurance. Republicans in Congress want to repeal and replace the law that also covers nearly 20 million Americans. After campaigning against Obamacare, President Elect Trump now says he wants to keep parts of it. Meanwhile since many insurance companies have dropped out of the marketplace--premiums are soaring and the network of doctors is shrinking. The health care of thousands in Illinois now hangs in the balance.
