This video shows a how-to method of pre-building light rail trim and the installation method to prevent accidental nail damage and ease the install from underneath.
Predrilling holes for trim nails is extra work, but it will create a path of least resistance for the gun nail when trim pieces like this are being installed. Especially in hard-to-reach places.

Side note: If the tile is being installed later, make space for it now with shorter trim.
