Spoken Word: Church Goers
When the shutdown happened and churches had to close their doors, a lot of us wondered how long we’d be able to do this relationship with God without a physical place to meet and worship with other believers.
Like it was cute in the beginning but then Easter rolled around and I was like “Yeahhh this ain’t it.” 😂
But the God who directed disciples to gather in an upper room 2000 years ago is the same God who knew how to move through Zoom 2000 years later.
A temporary pause on physically meeting for church didn’t mean that our mission to share the gospel had to pause too, it just meant we had to shift our approach.
And just like Jesus had to transition from physical to spiritual in order to reach more people, we had to go from physical to digital to do the same.
I don’t know what the stats say, but I wholeheartedly believe people encountered the living God in their living rooms, and church attendance skyrocketed because of this pandemic and the authenticity with which they were able to meet Jesus.
This piece is simply a reminder that it is the responsibility of the Church (not just the church), aka the Body (not just the building) to spread the gospel.
