Black Mirror (Xbox Series X) (Xclusive Indie Playthrough - Part 11) A Night in the Ancient Village

In this video, David, Dr. Farber & Rory head to the ancient village to learn more about the dark origin of the Black Mirror.
Black Mirror is an adventure & horror/thriller game with a gothic theme that is actually a reboot of The Black Mirror series that was first released in 2003 (this game series has no connection with the Black Mirror TV show/series which was released by Netflix back in 2011). This game is a third-person adventure game (whereas the original series from 2003 was made up of point-and-click adventure games) set in the year of 1926, that revolves around David Gordon, a young man who visits his family mansion after receiving a letter about his father's (John Gordon) death. The game initially starts off with the player controlling John Gordon during his final moments before his unfortunate death where he is running away from something while hearing the screams of evil spirits. Eventually, he approaches some kind of ritual ground, recites some kind of ancient prayer and finally sets himself on fire. David's primary reason for returning to his family's estate (which he has never lived at before) is to begin the process of inheriting the estate along with whatever other possessions and riches that the family has. However, this plan is almost immediately pushed off to the side as David wants to learn more about John's mysterious death along with a strange note regarding a library and a key that his father left for him. What follows is a rabbit-hole filled mystery and investigation that uncovers a dark history within the Gordon family dating as far back as the Roman times.
The gameplay in this game is actually very similar to games such as The Dark Picture series and even the TellTale games. The player primarily controls David Gordon (apart from the very first section where they control his father John) from a third-person perspective and is able to freely explore the various rooms within the Gordon mansion along with some outside sections where they can interact with various objects, collect various items such as notes (which primarily serve to give you additional information on what to do next or even provide you with some backstory) or a Master Key (which has several moving parts that's used to unlock otherwise locked off areas within the mansion) and also solve puzzles. There are quite a few additional characters located throughout the Gordon mansion that the player can talk to in order to gain valuable pieces of information for the investigation while also learning more about the history of the mansion itself and the Gordon family.
Finally, with regards to the achievements in this game: Black Mirror includes a total of 21 achievements for a total of 1000 GS. A total of 16 achievements are story-related while 2 of them are related to successfully calming Gordon down during his painful headaches (where you have make sure the cursor stays inside the silver circle as it moves around) & the other 3 are missable: Profondo Rosso (where you have to interact with Eddie's toy chest), Eat Well, Stay Healthy (where you have to make sure to eat all 3 foods during breakfast) and Scratches or No Scratches (where you have to use the wire to unlock the library desk rather than the knife). The good thing is that the game has been updated with a chapter select option which means that going back to obtain any achievement you may have missed is now much easier. That being said, this is an easy completion that will take you 4 to 6 hours to complete.
