Hot summer 2021: natural disasters and catastrophes / M.News World
This summer turned out to be abnormal in different parts of our planet. Especially in July, the weather is incredibly extreme. While some countries are languishing in the heat and putting out fires, others are experiencing catastrophic floods.
In early July, a record amount of precipitation fell in the south of Russia. Rivers overflowed their banks, flooding settlements and houses. The authorities announced an emergency situation. In Dagestan, after heavy rains, mudflows of water, stones and mud descended from the mountains.
Due to heavy rainfall, a series of mudflows plummeted down in the countries of Central Asia. Houses and roads were destroyed in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. There are people injured.
Tremendous floods swept the countries of Western Europe. Heavy rains during the night overflowed rivers and water bodies, turning streets into raging streams that swept away cars and destroyed homes.
Germany, Belgium and neighboring countries are just beginning to come to their senses and are trying to figure out how to cope with the consequences of severe floods that have killed almost 200 people.
