Live in 1991 with Tom Hobson Band (Tom Hobson-Acoustic Guitar, Pete Lussier-Fiddle, Lee Spivey-Electric Guitar, Thomas Minton-Bass, MrTuneages-Banjo. This is the last gig Tom Hobson did in 1991 before his death about 2 months later. Tom left a great legacy, especially his LP recording "Anyplace I Hang My Hat Is Home", titled after a Johny Mercer tune. Tom also is well known for his recording Quah with Jorma Kaukonen, with the latest release featuring additional tunes that the record company didn't put on the original release. Choo Choo Ch'Boogie first recorded by Louis Jordan, but written by Denver Darling, Vaughn Horton, and Milt Gabler.
"Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" is a popular song first recorded in January 1946 by Louis Jordan & His Tympany Five. It topped the R&B charts for 18 weeks from August 1946, a record only equalled by one other hit, "The Honeydripper". The record was one of Jordan's biggest ever hits with both black and white audiences, peaking at number seven on the national chart and provided an important link between blues and country music, foreshadowing the development of "rock and roll" a few years later.

Tom Hobson earned his place in history and certainly deserves a book on his life, don't know if that will ever happen so these web pages ( www.tomhobson.com ) represent my best efforts to capture his legacy in a forum that hopes to comfort those who knew him well and paint a picture of his life for those who want to know more about the legendary Tom Hobson. Tom was an under-recorded artist considering his vast repertoire of over 500 songs and only two albums that were ever released.
