"So Round, So Firm, So Fully Packed" is a 1947 song by Merle Travis, written by Travis, Eddie Kirk, and Cliffie Stone. The song would be his second number one on the Folk Juke Box charts where it stayed at number one for 14 weeks and a total of 21 weeks on the chart. In the same year it was a #3 hit for Johnny Bond and a #5 hit for Ernest Tubb.
This is the last gig Tom Hobson did in 1991 before his death about 2 months later at age 52. Tom left a great legacy, especially his LP recording "Anyplace I Hang My Hat Is Home", titled after a Johnny Mercer tune. Tom also is well known for his recording Quah with Jorma Kaukonen, with the latest release featuring additional tunes that the record company didn't put on the original release.

Tom Hobson earned his place in history and certainly deserves a book on his life, don't know if that will ever happen so these web pages ( www.tomhobson.com ) represent my best efforts to capture his legacy in a forum that hopes to comfort those who knew him well and paint a picture of his life for those who want to know more about the legendary Tom Hobson.
