A foolproof technique for reading the slope of a green and improving your putting. First, walk around the hole and analyze the slope to determine the G-spot.
Mark Nicolas offers this free video golf lesson to help you increase your putting average. This video doesn't focus on putting technique itself, but rather on analytical skills. Golf relies heavily on your ability to accurately judge a given situation on the green, the fairway, the tee box, the bunker, etc. Putting is the most important aspect of the game for quickly gaining points. You obviously need to work on your technique, but also take the time to learn how to read a slope correctly.
You've certainly seen golfers with rather poor technique who sink putt after putt. This is simply due to their extraordinary analytical skills. Reading a green isn't natural; it's a skill that must be learned.
To practice after watching this French video on putting, simply go to a sloping green (course or practice area) and bring a ball marker. Walk around the green and try to determine the steepest slope, or the "full downhill" point, as Mark Nicolas explains very clearly in this video.
Place balls in several spots on the green, all the same distance from the hole, and consistently putt towards the spot you've identified. If your putts don't go in, your analysis is flawed. Try again!
