Based on Irish folklore tales, Song of the Sea centers on siblings Ben and Saoirse. They belong to the mythological race of Selkies who live as humans on land and as seals in the sea. Together they embark on an adventure to free fairy creatures trapped in the modern world.
Director Tomm Moore’s previous picture, the adorable The Secret of Kells was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Animated Feature.
