During lunch at a ski resort, a Swedish family on vacation faces a fierce avalanche heading towards them. While mother Ebba's immediate reaction is to protect their children, she watches her husband Tomas flee to save his own life. Although the avalanche doesn't amount to any physical damage, the couple's marriage now faces it's own mountainslide as Tomas attempts to redeem himself.
Force Majeure, which is written and directed by Ruben Östlund, was honored with Un Certain Regard at 2014's Cannes Film Festival.
