DIY Custom Neon Sign Activated through Sound Detection
This video highlights and takes a journey through my build of a custom neon sign picturing my brand logo. By creating a wooden, circular backdrop along with creating a template of the logo on paper, I was able to first align the figure to the board. Then, after using various fastening methods, I wove thin translucent fishing line around the electroluminescent wires in the pattern of the “MC” template. Next, after wiring and programming a circuit with an Arduino Uno, a sound sensor, a micro servo, and various other components, the electronic system was attached to the backside of the sign. Finally, after designing and 3D printing a custom part along with adding a few minor details, the working sign prototype was ready to roll!
