Since ancient times, boys in the Caucasus were taught to fight overwhelming odds through a special martial arts technique which nowadays can be glimpsed in some of the inherited dances. Balance, dexterity, accuracy, and staying low to the ground while turning on all sides were important elements of this lightly-armored fighting style.
