1. Relentless Triage:
Discuss the importance of prioritizing tasks by urgency and potential business impact, emphasizing the differentiation between urgent (red), important but not urgent (yellow), and non-urgent (green) tasks. Explain that not everything that demands attention is truly critical, and some tasks (black) need to be let go or delegated.
2. Design for Crazy (Reduce daily decisions!):
Highlight strategies to make tasks easier such as planning ahead, automating routine decisions, colocating resources for easy access, and designing environments to decrease distractions and temptations. These steps help preserve mental energy and improve decision-making under pressure.
3. Focus Outward to Get Out of Crazy:
Encourage a shift in focus from internal stress to external action, particularly through fostering compassion and teamwork. Stress the benefits of seeing beyond one’s immediate challenges to how one can contribute to the team's overall goals and assist others, which helps broaden perspective and reduce tunnel vision.
