Marvel Heroes Omega 2026 - Jean Grey Cosmic Trial (90's mental only build)
Everybody seems to dive straight into the use of Phoenix Force, leaving 90's era, Claremont/Jim Lee Jean Grey out in the cold. They also claim that Jean is 'weak', which I immediately knew was utter bullshit as she already starts with a ricochet ability, and gets a channel that can very quickly have it's spirit drain removed; meaning you can dump into attack speed without increased drain rate penalties.
So yeah. Pushed her through cosmic. Was having a hard time finding ANY cosmic gear drops for her so I can build for crit/brutal as I normally try to do, so just used her unique gear that had some kind of crit/brutal stats, and made sure nearly all of it included ENERGY attribute gains, as that's the one I chose to scale her damage off of since, by default, it was higher than INT (but int would likely pay off with better crits, but lower base damage gains).
In any case, she's a powerhouse. I did screw up the run because I spaced out a bit since there was near no pressure at all here. When the Bodyguard/Sentinels showed up, I forgot I could have done better damage by using ricochet smacks to bounce off the shielded boss so the minion would eat redirect damage and ramp up attack speed even more than her channel could do. I remembered this later on partway into the Red Skull fight. :P
Also opted to try just raw damage on her 4 artifacts instead of trying to stack more crit chance/damage and brutal chance/damage as I also tend to try to do. Shows that this is just as viable, even if her crit rate and especially brutal rate were below the minimum 40% I try to aim for as standard.
In any case, 90's Jean ftw.
