Shimano SPD (Mountain Bike) Cleat Installation
Shimano SPD cleats are simple to install but be sure to correctly align the Fore-Aft, Side to Side and Rotational position for your needs. These cleats are generally used on Mountain Bikes, Gravel Bikes and for commuting.
One of the great benefits is that due to their small size, they can be recessed into what looks like a fairly conventional sports shoe, thereby making them very easy and comfortable to walk in.
The only tool that is required for this task is a 4mm Allen (Hex) key. Fortunately with the cleats loosely bolted into the shoes, they can then be slid around to the final position of your choosing.
If you are new to cycling, or like me a "Roadie" about to start a little Gravel Bike riding, SPD cleats and compatible shoes are a great option.
