How To Fix AMD 7900 XT/XTX Video Card Driver Timeout in DaVinci Resolve 18
Update: Alternative fix is to download the newest copy of Davinci Resolve/Studio 18.5 Public Beta which can be downloaded here: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/prod... the newest version of the public beta doesn't have the timeout/VRAM overflow issue and is confirmed to be working with the AMD's newest 23.4.3 driver release while providing the best-optimized gaming experience compared to older drivers.
I was frustrated that my brand new AMD 7900 XT card was not able to work with the only application that I needed it to work in besides doing some occasional gaming: The Davinci Resolve 18 Studio. The driver time-out issue is widespread and is pretty bad on the newly released drivers that AMD has put out (That makes AMD looks really bad). In this video, I will reproduce the issue and provide a temporary solution so you can continue to work in Davinci Resolve 18 (albeit not running the newest driver that's optimized for newly released video games)
