Luca Facchini - Alkekengi
Alkekengi is what you may call a plant, but not the plants on this Film.
To me the alkekengi is not just a-plant, but is what I like to affirm as a "Form of Existence©".
This being has been in my mind since I was little. The first time I saw an alkekengi was in my grandmother's garden. In our seaside house of that time. To be precise this beautiful being was growing from my neighbor's house, coming into our side. I was always intrigued by the shape and the shades of this "form of existance©". Intense orange, green, yellow shades. And even a faint nice perfume coming from those fruits. After many years I tried to recall the name of alkekengi, but I actually didn't know! Or perhaps my friend told me on those days but surely I forgot.
Then through the years each time I wanted to remember the name I kept forgetting.
Since I love alkekengis I want to finally remember "her or his" name once it for all.
The purpose of this Music-Artform is to remember this beautiful form of existence. And to suggest to you, that if you want to remember something that you care about, you need to take action.
So in my case I made this Music-Artform, took one of the photos I made, chose the right one just to remember the Alkekengi (Alkekengi officinarum Moench, 1802). Because as Leonardo Da Vinci said "if you want to know something you have to draw it."
Especially because Nature is definitely worth my time. So the Alkekengi.
