Sam Benton: Ankyrons™: Next-generation target-binding reagents beyond antibodies
Ankyrons™ are a novel class of small target binders based on an ankyrin-repeat scaffold. In this talk we discuss how Ankyrons™ break free from the limitations of traditional antibodies. These highly stable, recombinant single-domain proteins offer a fresh perspective for researchers seeking precise target binding solutions. Real-world case studies are shared, where Ankyrons™ stepped in to bridge the reagent gap left by antibodies. From overcoming challenges to achieving better results, participants learn how Ankyrons™ are enabling research endeavors.
Sam Benton is Ankyron product specialist at ProImmune based in the Oxford, UK. He is focused on supporting our Ankyron customers and collaborations globally and expanding the reach of this novel target binding technology. He holds an Honours degree in Immunology from the University of Edinburgh, where he undertook a project on SARS-CoV-2 B cell linear epitope mapping. Subsequently, Sam pursued a master's degree at UCL, where he worked in the lab of Arne Akbar, conducting research to characterise atypical memory B cells in autoimmune rheumatic disease.
