Cờ bay trên phố Little Saigon tưởng niệm 30 tháng 4 (Commemorating the fall of Saigon 30 April 1975)
The flags of former South Vietnam regime are displayed on the streets of Little Saigon (Westminster, California) to commemorate the fall of South Vietnam. 47 years ago, the Vietnam War ended on April 30, 1975, with the victory of the North Vietnamese Communists. Millions of Vietnamese fled the country to escape the harsh rule and the discrimination of the Communists. The country was unified geographically and politically, but not psychologically. The Vietnamese are very much divided on the legitimacy of the Communist rule. Most oversea Vietnamese oppose the Communist rule. Inside the country, there are supporters and opponents. The Communist government is inherently corrupt and repressive. Even though the country has made some economic progress, economic inequality, injustice and corruption are rampant. Discrimination against people who had connection with the old South Vietnam regime still go on until today, even to the children or grandchildren of them. The country will remain divided until though issues are resolved.
