We are in a monkeypox outbreak. There is local transmission happening all around the world. In fact, The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared monkeypox a public health emergency of international concern.
And the number one question I’m getting is” Where does Monkeypox come from?” It’s not a new virus. The first case was in Africa in 1970, but it was largely confined to Africa until this new outbreak started in May 2022.
