Here’s a top-down view on how I approach software complexity.
The goal is to flatten the complexity curve.
Software complexity curves are more like step curves.
Don't over-implement.
But don't stick to close the necessary curve either.
Anticipate and flatten each step.
All-in-one and "easy first" approaches often end up making the complexity curve exponential.
"Architecture first," where we compose smaller parts together, tends to create a flatter curve.
My two mantras for choosing technology:
1. Lame is the new Cool
2. Dumb is the new Smart
