Radeon vs Geforce in Maya
Here is a brief video showing some issues I've personally had with a Radeon HD 5870 card in Maya. The drivers were updated several times, but the same issues kept coming up. Finally I had enough and ordered a Geforce GTX 560 ti - and it fixed all my issues. Hopefully this video will be of some use to folks looking for a video card to use with Maya but who can't, or won't, shell out for a workstation class card. I've had other ATI cards in the past and also had issues with Maya, so in the future I'll just be sticking with NVIDIA.
