The video shows a unique combination which combined the versatility of the KAT® Carriage and the EFD Induction Heating head to pre heat a pipe section.
The Gullco Electronic Arc Height Sensing system with fitted with an ultrasonic sensor which uses sound relaying back to a height adjustment slide to maintain the precise height of the induction head as it travels around the pipe.
Pre-heating is a very common aspect of pipe welding and precise control of the heat input helps to minimize the material distortion before welding and improve weld quality.
The great part about the KAT carriage is it can be used to do the welding also!!
