This is like "normal" herping, just in the ocean. There are techniques to find more critters. I learned these techniques via researching and via experts in the field. But you can just easily look in the open pools and exposed rocks and easily see animals. Check out your local tide schedule to find the low tide times which is the easiest and best way to find animals.
