Charlie McBride, BA ’65 Throughout his professional career, McBride has used his journalism skills to help shape public policy and to promote the value of good government. He has an outstanding professional record, particularly in the public policy arena where, for more than four decades, he has effectively used his communication and leadership skills to identify solutions, develop proposals and legislative strategies, and influence government on a national and international platform. McBride’s many philanthropic endeavors include serving 30 years on the Board of Directors of the Close Up Foundation, which conducts the nation’s largest civic-education program for students and teachers.
