Abandoned Engine Build - Mopar 360 LA Build Recipe, Parts ID, Clearance Checks, And Much, Much More
This is a 1978 360 engine that I'm putting together for Gold Member Josh's 1978 Dodge D100 that happens to be sitting in my driveway. I bought it in the condition you see, as a freshly machined engine "ready for assembly." But the closer I look at this block and the components that were included with it, the more questionable things I find. For example, out of the eight connecting rods, there are three of one type, two of another type, two of another another type, and one odd guy out. There are seven matching pistons - which isn't quite enough for an 8 cylinder engine. There are Chinese bearings of highly questionable quality... and the list goes on from there. So today, I'm going to take a close look at all of these things and more, share as much 360 specific info as I could possibly cram into one video, and see if I can't at least make a little progress inching this long abandoned build project toward completion.
