Gnome desktop comes with Nautilus as the default file manager in Gnome. However it does not have as many functions as some other file managers. So if like me you prefer Nemo here is how to set it as the default file manager. Because Nemo is based on Nautilus it works well on the Gnome desktop and will also draw the desktop icons if you want it to. So here is how to make Nemo the default file manager on Gnome.
