Thanking Our Thanksgiving Turkey.
Thanksgiving Day is a day for Giving. But we have forgotten that it is also a day to Take tens of millions of innocent & sentient lives, so that we can give thanks and spread gratitude. Can we thank our thanksgiving turkey enough? Or should we apologize to them? Can we apologize enough? This is the sad sad story of our thanksgiving turkey.
We live in a society where it is acceptable to exploit certain species of animals for our own benefits (for unnecessary reasons), and such action is justified using the notion of culture and tradition. Does something being cultural or traditional make it humane and ethical? Are all cultures and traditions meant to continued to be appreciated? Can you still embrace the culture and tradition we grew up with with your family, if you decide to go vegan, or do you have to give something up? What do our thanksgiving turkeys go through before they arrive at the grocery store and our dinner tables? In this video, I’m going to answer all of those questions.
