Does our digital world mean the end of tradition and older languages? On the contrary, say Prof. Maya Chacaby (Anishinaabe, Beaver Clan) of York University and virtual learning expert Benoit Buyse of UniVirtual: technology provides fresh ways to pass on heritage to a new generation. They describe how the virtual world of Biskaabiiyaang teaches Anishinaabe language, history, and culture through gamified quests and activities; and how the outcome is an Indigenized curriculum, accessible and engaging.

They join us online to describe the process of translating Indigenous Knowledge and traditional storytelling into game mechanics.
