Today, I'm inspired by Hannah Witton and Heather Flowers to reflect on how gender affects me as a cis woman. Everyone approaches gender differently, and you might have completely varied ideas on how to approach it compared to mine. Please let me know what you think in the comments!
As a cisgender, white woman I definitely want to acknowledge that this reflection helps me as a person and it in itself is not a form of activism! Especially where I live in Tennessee, we cis folks need to do way more to support our Trans peers right now.
This whole video was partially inspired by Pride Month, but I think all of these conversations need to extend past June. If you do a similar video, please tag me so I can see how are experiences are both similar and dissimilar! As Heather Flowers says, society lets cis people leave gender unexamined and so here I am, like Hannah, examining mine. Have you thought about these questions before? Let's discuss in the comments!
