The director butchered this adaptation so it’s unwatchable!
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Peach Boy Riverside, a decent manga, but the anime is a confusing mess due to the decision to air its episodes out of order, which disrupts the story and makes it hard to follow.
The plot is a generic fantasy with two protagonists, Sally, a naïve princess, and Mikoto, a swordsman determined to kill oni. The show’s world feels shallow, with underdeveloped characters and weak action scenes whilst at the same time, doesn't go deep enough to be meaningful.
The animation is subpar and the soundtrack is forgettable. Ultimately, the anime fails to deliver on its premise, and fans would be better off reading the manga or watching better shonen shows.
