These are a vintage set of Fender strings. These 1968 Fender Mastersound Pure Nickel Wrap Duratone Nylon Tape Strings, No.505 Light Gauge for 'Spanish Guitar' are very interesting. They sound to me like a Fender mute engaged on a Jaguar, but with a bit more sustain. Just pure fundamental.
The nylon underwrap is unique for a flatwound and has to be the factor that makes it just sound this dull while still being plenty resonant. Silly improvisation inspired by the sound.
