Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best time to take on a winter fishing challenge on Lake Tahoe, but I decided to try to catch 3 different species today...despite the fact that the water temps were sitting at a chilly 44 degrees.
Lake Tahoe has several different species: Lake Trout (mackinaw), Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Cutthroat Trout and Kokanee Salmon. Kokanee aren't really happening in the winter and the cutthroat are a bit of a wild card to0 since they just started getting stocked recently and most of them get eaten by other fish.
So, the showdown was on: I'd target rainbows, browns and lakers...
