Today we return to visit the Batu Caves. And this visit coincides with 1 day after the Thaipusam celebration
And at this location there are still many traders who still sell various kinds of merchandise related to India. From clothes, food and accessories, and equipment for prayer, on this day many Hindus come to pray.
A little history about the thaipusam celebration, Thaipusam Day is a celebration welcomed by those who are Hindus around the world to honor the Hindu god, Dewa Murugan or also known as Dewa Subramaniam.
Thaipusam Day is a day to fulfill vows and atone for sins or ask for forgiveness for sins that have been committed so far. Not all Hindus will fulfill their vows. Nazar is just asking for something to Lord Murugan and if the request is granted, then a special event is held as a sign of gratitude.
Whatever it is, we must respect and tolerate differences in beliefs because tolerance will be beneficial for strengthening brotherhood. By implementing an attitude of tolerance, people can interact with anyone regardless of their religious and ethnic background so that they are able to strengthen brotherhood with others. And religious tolerance is an attitude of mutual respect and respect among adherents of other religions.
