Tehelka poetry with Asad Ashraf
During the 15 year long war against Terror, more than 26000 civilians have been killed alone in Afghanistan and another 29000 wounded. Casualty of the equal intensity is reported from Iraq. The west bank in Palestine has been since long been bombed consistently by the Isreali Air force amidst the ongoing conflict in the region. Israeli tanks have bulldozed thousands on the ground. It once rolled over the American poet, activist and diarist Richeal Corie.
It is ironical that the dominant narrative around terrorism does not acknowledge these killings as an act of terror. But as soon as there is an attack in a country dominated by the Whites, one gets to hear about the need of speeding up of war against terror.
‘The World in My Schizophrenic imagination’ is dedicated to all those killed in war against terror so far and also those innocent people who have been killed by the extremist forces in the name of revenge and Islam.
