I've lived this song many a'time and shared a pack with a hitchhiker or two more than once. I thought that'll change the rest of their trip ... so I gave em a backpack. Once my brother-in-law Jimmy Coles and I were the first ones let into the park after major flooding had closed Lost Maples for days. We arrived when they opened again - perfect timing.
Then we disappeared into the park for three days backpacking to our hearts delight. Great park and wonderful wildlife and Native American stones, and pretty Sabinal River. With one one high cliff you can jump in the river from... It was so incredible, we were the only ones in the whole park. Here's a Google search for it:

So much beautiful natural world to explore folks. Gotta seize the day to make it happen. Think of it as the "adventurer" side of your personality and go create your own adventure.
