Motivational speaker, author of 'Blind For a Purpose: Turning Life-Challenges into Purpose In Life', and Communications Director of Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind Blake Lindsay speaks on blindness and the ways in which visual descriptions of art can help visually-impaired people understand it in the same way that people with normal sight can.
The Nasher Sculpture Center offers accessibility programs in which gallery educators offer descriptions of the art for visually-impaired visitors and allow them to feel the textures of materials used in the sculptures, furthering this approach through its recent collaboration with NVision, Inc. to 3-D print sculptures from the Nasher Collection.
Accessibility resources and initiatives are made possible, in part, by The Rosewood Foundation, the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation, and through the generous support provided by donations made in memory of Michael Jensen.
