Quilted Dress Tutorial | How to Sew a Patchwork Dress
Let's make a quilted dress! In this video I use my Syd Tie Dress pattern so you don't need to self-draft anything! The pattern is available in sizes 0-34 (31"-61" Bust, 24"-54" Waist and 34"-65" Hip). I walk you through how to quilt the necessary pattern pieces, but once the quilting is done the dress construction is exactly the same as the pattern instructions. Fabric Requirements:
See the fabric requirement chart included in the pattern. You'll need that amount of white fabric (for example, the linen I used in mine), plus extra for the quilt top. The video walks through figuring out how much fabric you'll need for the quilt top.
Suitable Fabrics:
For the patchwork squares, you can use a variety of quilting and woven cottons and linens. I wouldn't recommend using fabrics with much stretch or loose weaves. I linked all my patchwork fabrics in this video description: • Answering Your Most Frequently Asked Quest...
