What is a benchmark in Blender?
The benchmark consists of two parts: a downloadable package which runs Blender and renders on several production files, and the Open Data portal on blender.org, where the results will be (optionally) uploaded.

Are rigs compatible with Blender 2.79?
Rigs created in Blender 2.78 may not be compatible with 2.79. Rigs created in Blender 2.77 may still work. Save your work before attempting upgrading your rigs. Over one thousand bugs have been fixed since Blender 2.78. 1003 to be precise. Check out the list for 2.79, and the maintenance releases 2.79a and 2.79b.
