This hitch is releatively simple and easy to master. The extra crossing point gives a bit more friction and hold than a single half hitch. It's more secure than a single half hitch, especially around an object with a small diameter, and could, of coirse, be used with around turn, but always treat it with caution as it does not have the strength of many other hitches.
